Stan thinks liberal christians have too weak a sense of love…

And yet we are the only ones who believe the prophets.

For us christians, if our faith runs on a theology of love - which it absolutely must! - but has no room for the prophets! (God will “tear down the winter house as well as the summer house and the houses of ivory… therefore you will be among the first to go into exile”)

or, literally for Christ’s sake, has no room for John the Baptist (“what did you come to see, you brood of vipers?!)…

… then surely something is anemic to our understanding of God’s love.
