1. The North Carolina State Board of Elections confirmed that James Yokeley Jr. resigned as chair of the Surry County Board of Elections after authorities said he was accused of putting illegal drugs in his granddaughters' ice cream.
The Wilmington Police Department said Yokeley, 66, was charged with contaminating food or drink with a controlled substance and felony child abuse.
Preliminary tests indicated the pills contained MDMA (also known as ecstasy) and cocaine, according to Mt. Airy News. Police said the pills have been sent to a state lab for further testing.
2 A Florida Trump Supporter Who Accused Biden Voters of Being Pedophiles, John White, Has Been Arrested for Molesting a 5 y/o Child.
A 54-year-old Cantonment man is charged with molesting a 5-year-old in Escambia County. John White was arrested on Aug. 26 on these charges:
- lewd/lascivious behavior - molest victim less than 12
- lewd/lascivious behavior - exhibition victim less than 16
According to the arrest report, the victim said White molested her as well as pleasured himself in front of her. The report states she added that he told her not to tell anyone "or else he would call 911.” White denied the allegations to investigators during his interview, according to the report.
