Israel is US

Israel - since the 1995 assassination of Yitzhak Rabin by  one of their rejected own (rejected because he was a Mizrahi [native Jew not part of the European diaspora] and who was motivated by the then opposition leader, Netanyahu’s, screaming about treason) has increasingly steered steadfast into colonial supremacy.

They are performing our own colonizing history: dispossessing the Other of their land, their labor, their very limbs, their loved ones, and their lives. In periodic but serial and consistent brutality, the chosen Likud governments have committed atrocities, crimes against humanity, while wrapping themselves, paranoid, in blood covered garments of victimhood as justification for using ten-thousandfold greater proportion of war weaponry.

They have, all along, been the object of small scale murderous violence relative to that they themselves have sown, and seem to seek in order to keep a vile veneer of righteousnes covering a vengeful lust.
Jewish supremacy today is but a more brazenly vulgar show of brutality akin to our globalized and diffuse destruction of hundreds of thousands of lives in these decades since 9/11.

And both Israel and the US are acting on a 30 year crest of bloodlust and destroying our own democracies. The US may have a quicker off ramp. But if it is taken, it will not be proof of moral progress. Only the need for comfort.

Not a book

In John 14, Jesus makes clear that after him the Holy Spirit will come to us, as his disciples, to “teach us everything” and to build us up in love. No mention of a book. A lot of bible worshippers love idolatry. So what is scripture for? Exactly what it does: to point us to the Incarnation of God, Jesus the Christ, and to the sustainer of faith and love, God the Holy Spirit. With God the Father, then, scripture tells us to worship the Holy Trinity. Not itself.
