Stan’s Self-serving Saturday Lies
Stan, this morning, makes his regular contribution to misinformation and lies that hurt his own Christian spirit every Saturday.
He’s takes the story of a young man held captive by his mother for decades as a snarky attempt to refute the factual narrative that men are most often the abusers and women most often the victims of violence. (Typically, he dramatizes the point as universal as a liar’s way to avoid the serious gendered natured of violence.)
What he cannot do, where his straight white make identity crushes both his humanity and christianity is to be humble and accept this fact: An estimate 91% of victims of rape & sexual assault are female and 9% male. Nearly 99% of perpetrators are male.
Then, he bizarrely moves to dramatize the “toll charges text scandal” as a refutation of the biblical message that we are made in the image and likeness of god and, therefore, fearfully and wondrously made. In other words, Calvin’s total depravity.
What % of the human population dies Stan think are engaged in this scandal?! 60%? Doesn’t he need a majority to have credibility on entirely destroy the human conscience and will to be good?
Or will 30% be damning enough? Dies he really think even 5% are involved in the toll scam?
What if he were told that 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001%
were involved?
Would his blithe rejection of god’s image and likeness in all fallible human beings survive? If so, how does he explain 2.4 billion christians in the world? Even if many of them aren’t so good - I don’t count Stan as a good christian because he replaces god with himself as judge of humanity - add then another couple of billion of really good people that aren’t professed christians.
Stan is sick in the head.
In any case… he should know that tech scams like the toll texts? 99% of perpetrators are men.
Stan lies on Saturdays. To prop up toxic White masculinity.
The problem (one problem) with so many of these conservative type posts is just the very poor reasoning involved. They're just full of logical fallacies and instances of appearing to entirely miss the points involved.
ReplyDeleteNot that this isn't true of others (poor reasoning), but it just seems so much worse among these folks. Maybe I need to find more intellectually rigorous conservatives. I look, just don't find them.
In my opinion, they are not thinking at all. Despite our engagement with them along reasoning and rational AND spiritual arguments, they are not engaged in reason.
DeleteTo the extent that they make arguments, it’s the psychological need to divert their own inner awareness from their rage. And they are enraged because their identity as straight White toxic/abusive males - which is the legacy we all inherited - is being appropriately judged, morally and spiritually.
But they cannot contend with the massive clarity and volume of demonstrations that our society has spent centuries subjugating those not like us and the women next to us.
To admit this is to admit that the Christian faith handed down to us colluded with brutality. Obviously not the first time in Christianity’s 2000 year history. Christian vs Christian violence has had centuries filled with mutual slaughter.
Let’s note how these Thugs cry about a war on Christians and Jesse, the fake Scot, Craig, and, inferentially, Stan, are tearing down Catholics with straw men arguments and shallow 17th century bigoted portrayals.
They are raging, mostly unconsciously, and Stan’s psychological defensive walls are the most solid. He’s sealed over and out of touch with himself. His performance as a “thought leader” for plebes is just that, a performance, alienated from his being.
So, for actual back and forth on spiritual and social matters, their subconscious refuses for their own sakes.
I am interested to see if Bubba can engage, though.

DeleteAnd to draw the necessary conclusion, the reason that they don’t see their hypocrisy of claiming a culture war against Christianity while they themselves join in archaic defamation toward Catholics - the majority of whom are, of course, their biggest best partners in anti-abortion action - is because they really aren’t hating on Catholics.
DeleteRather, what they’re really doing is steeping themselves in the socio-cultural milieu of the times they want to bring back: when White men made the rules and sat in all the important seats. Which was also a time where radical protestantism justified all the brutalities.
Oh, to feel like good Protestant men again! So superior were we.
